Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CiteLite, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.
The Service
CiteLite is a free tool that formats citations in APA 7th, MLA 9th, and Chicago 17th edition styles and lets you assemble and export a session bibliography. The service is provided as-is, with no accounts and no server-side storage of your work.
Accuracy Disclaimer
While we strive for formatting accuracy, generated citations are provided without warranty of any kind. Citation style guides contain edge cases and evolve over time, and institutions sometimes apply their own variations. You are responsible for verifying every citation against the official style guide or your institution's requirements before submitting academic or professional work.
Acceptable Use
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the operation of the service.
- Do not use automated systems to scrape or bulk-access the service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual Property
The CiteLite name, design, and software are the property of the site operator. The citations you generate belong to you — bibliographic data itself is factual and not subject to copyright.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CiteLite and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to academic penalties resulting from citation errors.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
